5th July - Beating the split times

Published by admin

I’m really trying to concentrate on (well) beating my run time from previous Malmesbury Triathlons.

My swim time won’t be great, but it won’t be too bad and should be between 8 and 10 minutes for the 16 lengths. There are lessons at TAZ, the local leisure centre, on Thursday nights, but the days are conspiring against me. Friends who are managing to get to TAZ though are seeing exceptional improvements in their technique and their spilt times are dropping quickly to sub-8 minute times.

I’m hoping that my cycle split will have improved from previous attempts and this is the main area for getting time back from the runners.

The run is my ‘damage limitation’ exercise - I’ve never been a great runner, so I’m hoping to lose less time to my friends than I gain (over them) on the cycle split.
