Lizard Skins Softcell Shin Guards 2010
I’ve swapped from SPDs to flat pedals for 2010, following several big crashes last year that I think were connected to me being connected to the bike. I haven’t got a serious ride on the flatties yet - because of the weather and a broken rear hub - but I have invested in some shin pads to protect my legs.
I pondered going for the knee-shin protectors, but thought that that was over-the-top - and would make me look a prat - so just went for these Lizard Skin softcell shin guards. I’ve tried them on indoors, much to the delight of the boys (who though it gave a nice Stormtrooper look), and they feel comfortable and not at all restrictive. I went for the Large/Extra large size, which are an excellent fit lengthwise, but there’s plenty of spare material round the leg - which suprised me as I’m far from skinny. I have just bought some long footie socks, which will help them to sit more comfortably.
I’ll update this once I’ve done a ride wearing them.
