Malmesbury Bikes

My trusted Saracen Kiliflyer Pro elevated chain stay (e-stay) MTB is for sale:

I bought it new in 1992 from The Bike Pedlar (I’ll post a copy of the invoice shortly) and it’s been fanastic ever since. However, I have two sons who are riding well now, so I’m selling the Kili and my Cannondale hybrid, to get a newer (and more versatile) MTB

The Kili is a 17.5″ frame, which suits me -I’m 6′1″ and the long stretch makes for a fast ride.

The frame is still in good condition, as is much of the paintwork - the stickers and a large amount of insulation tape protected it over the years - but there have been a few changes:

• The rear wheel had a new Araya rim ages ago, as the original Ritchey race rim eyelets weren’t particularly robust.

• The saddle was torn, so there a different Bontrager saddle on it now.

• The rear derailleur is now a Deore XT unit.

• The bottom bracket, cluster, chain and wheel-bearings were all replaced last winter.

• The pedals are the original-style flat pedals and clips.

• The tyres are now tasteful green Michelin Wildgrabbers.

• Vintage ’square’  whaletail in black and an original CrudCatcher as well (in black).

I won’t include the pictured whaletail, crudcatcher, bottle cage or pump with the bike.

The Kili has been running well, though the freehub started to play up in the cold weather - take a look at the Malmesbury Peloton page (http://www.malmesburybikes.co.uk/malmesbury-peleton/ride-history/) to see some notes about recent rides where the Kili has been.

Given that this is a fairly reluctant sale, I need to see how much I can get for the Kili, so I’m looking for offers in excess of £130.
